from Kris Henige:
Audrey Cielinski-Kessler, a senior member of our chapter, was awarded
the Distinguished SIG Service Award for her work with STC's Policies
and Procedures SIG. I worked with Audrey on P&P SIG activities
5-6 years ago when she was SIG Manager, and this award is very well-deserved.
from Barbara Philbrick:
Did you know that the domains "example.com," "example.net,"
and "example.org" have been reserved for software documentation?
At risk of exposing my ignorance, I just found out about them the other day. If you go to www.example.com, a web page with the message
"You have reached this web page by typing "example.com",
"example.net", or "example.org" into your web
browser.
"These domain names are reserved
for use in documentation and are not available for registration. See
RFC 2606, Section 3."
Anyway, thought others might like to know, too.
